How do I start borrowing?

You can start borrowing by clicking "Sign up" on our website, or going directly to the page of the Thing you want to borrow and clicking "Make a Reservation".

If you've had a browse of our catalogue and set your sights on the Thing you'd like to borrow, simply head to the Thing's page and press the purple "Make a Reservation" button.

Choose your local Benthyg Cymru location and you'll see a calendar showing the current availability of the Thing at that location. You can select in-person collection or delivery at this point.

Click to choose your collection date first, and then click again to choose your return date. Click twice on the same date to collect and return on the same day.

The dates you've chosen will appear in green on the calendar.

Light grey dates mean the Thing is either already reserved or the location is closed that day. 

You can borrow over closed days at a discount, but if the calendar won't let you choose a particular return date, it's likely that the Thing is already reserved for that day. Please try a different date or choose a same-day return by clicking twice on the same date.

Sign-up details will be tacked on to the process after you've chosen your dates, added your Thing(s) to the basket and clicked "Complete Reservation". 

We'll just ask for your name, email and postcode. You'll also be asked to create a password, which you'll need every time you log in to make a reservation. 

Please note that we also offer cash and card payment in-person on collection, as well as delivery options for your borrow.

• Double-check you've typed your email address correctly when signing up, otherwise you might not be able to receive emails from us or sign back in!
